It's been only a few years ago that Pilar 7 opened for the public. I didn't expect much: some information about technical details, some history, some insights into the production. I bought the ticket online for a very reasonable price but didn't know this hppened because the elevator was out of order. No worries. I'm healthy. But not only theelevator was out of order, also ALL toilets, a room called the mirror-room with mirrors and an exposition about the cables couldn't be entered because the door was blocked, so I only was able to visit the platform and see a model of the bridge with some very basic information regarding it's history. Obviously some money was spent installing the museum, more obviously since then nobody cared about it. It could be an obligatory visit when in Lisbon, as for now it is merely a sad grave of money spent by I don't know who. I had the idea to include it in the touristic Tours I guide but there is so many better options that I don't have to be ashamed for. É uma miséria.
Elevator was broken. That said it’s worth to step up 400 Stairs and enjoy every single
level till the top.
Was a pleasant experience, although without a lift it made it hard for some individuals to reach the top. You could tell it was lack if investment and maintenance. The structure to the top had rusty sections, and the glass on the floor at the top was dirty so you couldn't really appreciate the view below your feet. Its a shame, but understandable as the tickets weren't that expensive and it didn't seems to have a large visitor number. Great concept but really missing a wow factor to entice people.
