Pavilhão Carlos Lopes
The Carlos Lopes Pavilion, dating from 1932 and reopened on 18 February 2017, is located in the heart of Parque Eduardo VII, between Marquês de Pombal and Praça de Espanha, in one of the city's most central and noble areas, with excellent road access, parking and public transport (direct access to the Parque Metro station).
Recently renovated and restored, the main façade has kept the blue and white tile panels produced by the Sacavém Factory in 1922, depicting scenes from Portuguese history with themes dedicated to Sagres, the Battle of Ourique, the Lovers' Wing at the Battle of Aljubarrota and the Southern Cross.
Designed and executed by the sculptor Raúl Xavier, the ‘Art’ and ‘Science’ sculptures have been preserved on the building's façade, giving the equipment a remarkable monumental profile, integrated into a no less remarkable outdoor space, with the wooded and landscaped areas of Parque Eduardo VII and a unique view over the city.
The refurbishment of the Pavilion has provided it with unique conditions for holding the most representative corporate events, musical shows, congresses, conferences, sporting and cultural events, among other activities/initiatives that institutions or companies wish to organise in this privileged space in Lisbon.
